AJ & PA McBride is proud to support the development of the next generation of shearers through the woolTAG programme.
Shearing equipment and training can cost several $1000 upfront, and if you’re new to the industry you can break a lot of combs and cutters, at $40 for a comb it can add up quickly, but with the toolbox these trainees have tools to use as they build their speed and earnings potential.
The sheep on AJ & PA McBride properties
produce thousands of tonnes of quality wool each year. In order to
harvest this wool from the sheep's back so that it can be used to
produce superior garments for the world the industry needs to have well
trained shearers to look after our animals and provide an efficient
method of removing the fleece. For this reason the company is proud to
support any endeavor in our region that promotes the shearing industry.
The South Australian Wool Training Advisory Group (WoolTAG) provides young TAFE shearing graduates with a toolbox voucher in order for them to purchase shearing equipment.
