Australia's Cancer Councils are the recognised leaders in providing support and other resources for people affected by cancer. In 2018, it is estimated there will be over 140,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed and just under 50,000 deaths from cancer. Some cancers are more likely to afflict rural Australians, especially those living and working on the land. Farm workers are 60 per cent more likely to die from melanomas than city workers.

AJ & PA McBride is aware of the fact that one-third of the people affected by cancer live in regional and rural areas and that the incidence of all cancers is higher for these people and seeks to help by donating every year to Cancer Council SA.
