Station Manager
Location: Yudnapinna
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
With 2026 underway, we’re searching for a dynamic Station Manager to lead Yudnapinna Station into its next chapter.
Acquired in 2016, Yudnapinna Station sits approximately 80 km northwest of Port Augusta, offering families the freedom of pastoral life while remaining close to town amenities such as shopping, schools, and services.
As Station Manager, you will lead Yudnapinna's carbon initiative which is set to become Australia’s largest Human-Induced Regeneration (HIR) Carbon Project, driving the future of sustainable pastoral and environmental management. Your primary focus will be managing station infrastructure and rangeland goat activity, while the temporary removal of sheep will allow you to dedicate your attention to delivering the carbon project’s goals.
In the short term, your mission will include:
- Leading the carbon project from establishment through to operational delivery
- Planning and overseeing major infrastructure projects to manage rangeland goats, including designing and delivering systems and supporting infrastructure
- Coordinating contractors and station staff to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Driving ongoing upgrades and renewals of station infrastructure to support land regeneration and carbon outcomes
In the medium term, as regeneration objectives take hold, you’ll focus on:
- Reintroducing controlled grazing of Merino sheep
- Balancing pastoral production with long-term carbon and land regeneration goals
- Ensuring the property remains productive, resilient, and commercially sustainable
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a leadership role on large pastoral operations, ideally as a manager or overseer.
- Strong practical knowledge of infrastructure project management, grazing systems and land management.
- Ability to manage budgets and contribute to financial planning.
- Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills.
- Proven capability in leading people and managing projects.
- A genuine interest in regenerative land management, carbon projects or environmental outcomes.
What We Offer
- Market-competitive salary + 12% superannuation
- Comfortable 4-bedroom family home, fully expensed (utilities, Wi-Fi, Starlink)
- Portable Starlink Mini on company vehicle
- 4 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading
- Company vehicle with reasonable private use
- Private fuel allowance for personal vehicle
- Allowances including mobile phone and working dog.
- Schooling assistance for school aged children
- Paid employment for a partner with relevant skills
If you’re ready to lead one of South Australia’s most exciting pastoral and environmental initiatives, Yudnapinna Station is waiting for you.
